You are now nearing the end of your first trimester, which is very exciting. If you have been waiting to share the news with others, then you don’t have much longer to go. Additionally, your midwife or doctor may talk to you about an additional test you can get during pregnancy. The NIPT is a non-invasive prenatal test that analyses DNA in your blood to predict the chance of Down syndrome (trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18) and Patau syndrome (trisomy 13). It can also tell you the sex of your baby. Remember, not everyone chooses to get this test, so it is worth speaking to your midwife or doctor about your situation before deciding.

How your baby is growing when 10 Weeks Pregnant?
Evidently, from this point, your baby is called a fetus, and its tail is completely gone. The fetus is 3.5cm long and weighs about 8gm. Undoubtedly, all their organs have developed, but not many of them work yet. Also, their elbows, knees, wrists and ankles are growing, and the webbing between their fingers and toes has gone. If you could see your baby, they look curled-up.
What You May Feel
By now, you are probably thinking more about who your baby is and their personality. You may be deciding whether you want to find out the sex of your baby or if you prefer to wait until the birth.
Furthermore, you want to make healthy choices in pregnancy but may experience pressure from others to eat larger meals. Did you know that eating for two is a myth? Evidently, your body does not burn extra calories for the first six months of pregnancy. It only needs an additional 200 calories a day in the last three months of pregnancy (which is equivalent to a small handful of nuts).
Tips for when you are 10 Weeks Pregnant
Most importantly, be open with your partner about what you are going through. Mood swings and increased irritability can disrupt any relationship, so sharing what you are experiencing is essential. Also, tell your partner the best way they can support you at this time, so you are both on the same page.
